Power and Protection in Heeding Prophetic Priorites

Power and Protection in Heeding Prophetic Priorities- Canyon View Stake Challenge 2014- an Invitation to act. -  At the very essence of who I am as a woman, a spouse, and a mother is my belief in a loving and all powerful Heavenly Father who sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ as the Savior of the World... for you and for me.  It is this knowledge that guides my life daily.

I feel so very blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  My husband and I can trace our ancestral roots to the time of Joseph Smith, the prophet of the Restoration.  We feel so very blessed to live in a stake where our Stake Presidency heeds the counsel of our living Prophet Thomas S. Monson.  This year they have issued us a challenge... we the Rigby family accept that challenge.... that invitation to act.

President Harold B. Lee, (The 11th President of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) stated, "  The only safety we have as members of this church is to... give heed to the words and commandments that the Lord shall give through his prophet."

Goals: (Through goals and plans, our hopes are transformed into action.  Goal setting and planning are acts of faith."- Preach my gospel, pg. 146) As individuals we will continue to work on a faith inspired action this year as well as a Christlike attribute.  As a family, we will strengthen our family by studying the words of the living prophets from the most recent Conference addresses.  Each Sunday during family home evening, we will choose a talk for the week to study and then the following week, we will each take a minute to share our thoughts and feelings.  This week we will study the Conference address of Elder Robert D. Hales of the Quorum of the 12 apostles.  We will record thoughts in a family journal.

As parents we can't and won't always be there for our children, but the words of the prophets will.  In the end our ultimate goal is to help someone else feel the love of the Savior through each one of us!
