100 years in the park- Redwoods

We vacationed with half our hearts this year as Seleck is serving his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Stockton had football.  Maleck of course, kept us all going and enjoying the adventure of our road trip.
We found the most incredible stop in the upper Redwoods at the Jedediah Smith State Park.  This group of Redwoods is off the beaten path but the solitude makes it all the more beautiful.

The trees here kept us in absolute awe and reminded us of our "smallness" in the grand scheme of things.  If ever there is a place to feel close to God- this is it!

While we missed our older sons, it was nice to get to know our younger three in these new dynamics.  I love each of their personalities.  It was fun to experience the Redwoods with them!
When Maleck and Emma aren't fighting, they are best buds!

Check out the roots of this tree.

Few things in life fill the heart like family.  I love mine!

I was absolutely enamored by these tree- they are truly Giants!
It was fun to celebrate 100 years in the park by making the Redwoods part of our road trip. These trees possess grace and dignity.

It was so hard to say good bye when we left we knew summer would soon be over.!

Check out these trees, the shadows, light.. everthing-- I love trees!
