Remember, Remember... ancestral adventure

I was searching for stories- beckoned to the graves of my ancestors-- those who left their mother lands because of their new found faith,  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  For me it was amazing!  And in the words of President Thomas S. Monson, " We discover something about ourselves when we learn about our ancestors."  So we took to the road of discovery...

In honor of my 40th birthday this was my gift from them-  a road trip-- destination grave yards.  In 36 hours, we visited 10 grave yards and 40 grave sites.  This was the first time in my entire life that I have spent this significant amount of time with just my parents. It was the best birthday present ever!

I will be blogging about each ancestor individually in the days and weeks to come(be sure to click on Faces for more adventures), but here is a sneak peek of our ancestral adventure!

A strange gift for most- I know, but for me it was the perfect fit. It was a time to remember- a chance to pay tribute to each of these ancestors and the lives they lived, and a time to kneel at each of their graves  and tell them thank you... thank you for having faith and thanks  for building mine!
